Tadashi – Tadashi Shoji

Tadashi Shoji is an American based designer known for his evening wear, bridal collections, and red-carpet fashion.  Having moved from Japan to the United States he studied fashion design and was apprenticed to the costume designer Bill Whitten.


Working alongside Whitten he created theatrical looks for many music legends including Elton john, Stevie Wonder, Neil DiamondThe Jacksons and Earth, Wind and Fire. Following his success with celebrities Shoji launched his own brand in 1982 which brought his unique look to the special occasion market. Known for his red carpet designs Shoji enjoyed worldwide recognition when dressing several of the Miss Universe winners.

He is well known for designing for all ages, all sizes, and all ethnicities. Still today is designing for the current market including Michelle Obama, Miranda Kerr and Christina Hendricks. His brand categories now include evening wear, bridal, plus size, kids, fragrance, shape wear and intimate apparel.
