Elie Tahari – Elie Tahari

In the 1970s Elie Tahari emigrated to the United States from Israel and began working in the New York City garment district during the day and working nights at a boutique in Greenwich village. After his success with the creation of the tube top(boob tube), he created his own label Tahari in 1973. In the following years Elie opened his first boutique in Madison Avenue, posted his first billboard in NYC and held his first fashion show at Studio 54.

His collections cover garments suitable for day or evening and all with his eye on current trends.

The company has continued their expansion throughout the world including Europe, Asia and the middle east. Worn by celebrities and high flyers in the world such as Angelina Jolie and Calista Flockhart (Ally Macbeal), Tahari is a favourite on the red carpet circuit.

Our Fashion insider states that “Although there is up to 50 years difference in the ages of the Tahari Collections dating from the 70s onwards. It is remarkable how current they appear, showing the sustainability and quality of the Tahari brand. “
