Black Tie by Oleg Cassini – Oleg Cassini

Oleg Cassini was born into an aristocratic Russian family in 1913. He started as a designer in Rome before going to the United States.
There he became a designer with Paramount Pictures where he dressed some of the legendary stars of the day including  Joan Crawford, Joan Fontaine, Marilyn Monroe, Grace Kelly and more recently Kim Bassinger in the film The Sentinel 2006. However, he is probably best known for creating “The Jackie Look”

worn by the then first lady Jacqueline Kennedy. She went on to become a worldwide fashion icon and helped put American fashion on the map.
Perhaps Cassini’s greatest compliment was paid by Suzy Menke for the herald tribune. When she wrote, “Oleg you are and will be in fashion history, the designer who created the indelible and stylish image for the first lady. You should be proud of your achievement; you are the designer who inaugurated her style” and.time.has.proved.her.right.

Our Fashion Insider states : “Oleg Cassini was extremely handsome and dated several of the most notable women of the age, infact he was rumoured to have dated Jackie Kennedy following the assassination of her historical husband John F Kennedy. “

Oleg Cassini is now deceased.
